Now for the fun part. Your wreath is now prepped and ready to plant.

  • Make a cut in the burlap liner.
  • Use your fingertips to widen up the hole and loosen the soil bed up where you will be placing your succulent.
  • Start with one of the larger succulents. Remove most of the soil from the root ball.
  • Pop succulent into the hole and use your fingers to gently tamp it in place.
  • Repeat this step over and over, alternating between small and large succulents.

When you get about done with placing your succulents, and you plan to hang your wreath on a door, grab the wreath hanger and place it on the mold where you will hold it. You’ll want to make sure not to place a plant in that area so as to not squish it. Fill in the holes with smaller succulents.

If you are using the optional greening pins, secure your larger succulents with them now.

You’ll notice that there are some bare areas where the burlap is still showing. If you want, you can use some moss to cover the burlap up. Simply wet down the moss, wring out the excess water and work it around the succulents to cover the areas needed.

Plant wreath per instructions, then lay flat to water in. Keep wreath on a flat surface for 1-2 weeks so succulents have time to root in and won’t fall out when you hang it up. When you need to water your wreath, you will also want to take it down and lay it flat. Fertilize every 6 weeks with a cactus/succulent fertilizer.
